In the summer of 2025, I took a cruise to Iceland and was completely unprepared for its breathtaking beauty. From the dramatic landscapes and cascading waterfalls to the endless scenic vistas—and especially the puffins—I was in awe. Armed with my Nikon Z8 and a selection of lenses, I lived out a true photographer’s dream.

Thingvellir National Park
At Thingvellir National Park, you can walk between the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates, where the earth slowly pulls apart. This dramatic landscape of cliffs and fissures is a living display of Iceland’s geological power. The plates are spreading farther apart at a rate of 1 inch (2.5 cm) a year.
Gullfoss
Gullfoss, the legendary “Golden Falls,” thunders into its canyon with breathtaking power, sending mist and sunlight dancing through the air. Watching the water plunge in two tiers is an unforgettable Icelandic moment.
Geysir Geothermal Area
Part of Iceland’s famous Golden Circle, the Geysir Geothermal Area comes alive as Strokkur erupts every few minutes, sending steaming water high into the air. Surrounded by bubbling pools and rising mist, it’s a vivid display of the island’s geothermal power. See the geyser burst into action in the video below the gallery!
