In the summer of 2025, I took a cruise to Iceland and was completely unprepared for its breathtaking beauty. From the dramatic landscapes and cascading waterfalls to the endless scenic vistas—and especially the puffins—I was in awe. Armed with my Nikon Z8 and a selection of lenses, I lived out a true photographer’s dream.

Arrival in Grundarfjörður
Grundarfjörður is a small town on the north coast of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula in the west of Iceland. It is situated between a mountain range and the sea. The town is a fishing village and is mostly known for its beautiful mountain Kirkjufell, which was made fameous by the TV show “Game of Thrones”.
Hike to Kirkjefellsfoss
The hike to Kirkjufellsfoss offers a cinematic view of Kirkjufell, the sharp, conical mountain famously featured as the “Arrowhead Mountain” in Game of Thrones. The scenery combines emerald hills, Icelandic horses, and the gentle cascade of Kirkjufellsfoss flowing into a reflective stream.
